So, okay, okay, check this out, dogg, check this out: I'm sorry this is so late; I meant to post it yesterday, but I got pulled into a six-hour-long meeting and was too tired to write my review after that.

This week's episode was tough for me to rate; the people who I think usually suck actually pulled it out and were entertaining and the ones who are solid performers picked fairly boring songs. Frankly, this week was super-confusing. But I'm fairly confident that my initial impressions of our Top 12 are still valid.

On the theme as a whole: The theme actually worked out rather well. The songs were fun and, for the most part, the vocals were tolerable. It was a relief after last week, I'll tell you that much.

And, oddly enough, the guests' comments were pretty helpful! The only screw-up, IMO, was Lulu telling Stephanie that she's Beyonce-esque and that she should sing "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me."

With that said, let's move on to my rankings for Tuesday's performances.

12. Ashley

What is her problem??What is her problem??

For me, this girl's crying was hands-down the worst performance of the night. What's the deal with that, show? If I wanted to see girls crying, I'd watch "America's Next Top Model" (which I do. And they do it much better).

11. Sanjaya Malakar (SHOULD HAVE BEEN BOOTED)

"You Really Got Me""You Really Got Me"

Well, first off, this was Sanjaya's best performance yet. He was energetic, cute, and sang more or less on key.

But that doesn't change the fact that I was on edge for the entire duration of his performance because, with Sanjaya, you never know when he's going to crack or hit a sour note.

Bottom line, the kid doesn't have any power in his voice. He simply doesn't have what it takes.

The worst part is that I think he knows it -- and the poor kid is going to have to keep going back up there week after week and get reamed by the judges (and the fan blogs -- and Jelinas) until America finally decides to put him out of his misery and let him go home.

10. Chris Sligh

"She's Not There""She's Not There"

Overall, my reaction to Chris' performance was "meh." His vocals were okay, his performance was okay, his energy was okay, his song choice was okay... but, at the end of the performance, I found myself indifferent.

That's a shame because I actually like Chris. He's got a good voice and, what's more, he's hilarious, and that means a lot to me. I hope he can do better next week.

9. Gina Glocksen

"Paint It Black""Paint It Black"

I don't know whether it was what she was wearing or what, but La Glocksen's performance kinda scared me last night.

She has a good voice, perfect for the faux rocker-vibe she's got going on, but, for some reason, I find her unlikeable. Maybe it's because I absolutely detest faux punks like Avril Lavigne and those of her ilk.

'Tennyrate, her performance was a little on the dark and scary side, as opposed to the cool and edgy side.

I do kinda love her new haircut, though.

8. Phil Stacey (SHOULD BE BOOTED NEXT)

"Tobacco Road""Tobacco Road"

Eh, I'm not crazy about Sergeant Gollum and his freaky eyes. I also wasn't too crazy about his song choice, either. His voice is okay, but I've heard better.

7. Chris Richardson

"Don't Let the Sun Catch You Crying""Don't Let the Sun Catch You Crying"

This was Timberfake's best performance to date, hands-down. But I think it had more to do with the ossom guitarist than it did with Timberfake himself.

Still, I think it was a good song choice for him and it was rather pleasant, if a little cheesy.

6. Stephanie Edwards (WAS BOOTED)

"You Don't Have to Say You Love Me""You Don't Have to Say You Love Me"

Stephanie is a pretty girl with a great voice. But, unfortunately, her performance just wasn't good enough to keep her alive in this competition.

My theory as to why she was booted is a simple matter of market share: while Stephanie is not the least talented or the worst looking or the most hateable, she just isn't on par with Melinda and LaKisha.

Sanjaya's going to stick around for a while because he has a solid fan base that none of the other contestants will be able to woo away from him (i.e. the Indian community and pre-teen girls like Ashley). Gina's going to stick around because those who actually enjoy the faux rocker vibe have no one but her to vote for.

Stephanie, on the other hand, is competing for the R&B vote with Melinda and Lakisha. The fact remains that she isn't as good as they are. Jordin is probably going to be a casualty of this, too, eventually.

Sanjaya, as much as we want to put him out of his misery, will most likely stick around until the R&B voters can decide who they want to vote for. Their combined vote should then outnumber the Indians and teenyboppers and we'll finally be rid of Sanjaya. That probably won't happen for a while, though.

As for her performance, it was sadly boring. She has a great voice, but I think that when Lulu told her she sounded like Beyonce, she deliberately Beyoncefied it further and that was not good. I also think that Lulu made a mistake telling her to pick this song. I blame Stephanie's demise on Lulu.

5. Jordin Sparks

"I Who Have Nothing""I Who Have Nothing"

Jordin, Jordin, Jordin... so cute! So perky! So boring! She's got a great voice, but, LORDY, she picks the most boring songs!! She's going to have to step up her song selection if she wants to get ahead in this competition.

4. Blake Lewis

"Time of the Season""Time of the Season"

Blake is a cutie-patootie, and I love his beatboxing. But I do think that his song choice is reflecting that he's picking songs more to showcase his beatboxing than anything else. In the long run, I think this is going to hurt him. But, based on his looks, personality, and the undeniable ossomness of his beatboxing skills, I think he'll be around for a while.

I do think, though, that he needs to work on showing some facial expressions while he sings. You seem like a happy dude, Blake. So smile!

3. Haley Scarnato

"Tell Him""Tell Him"

When I saw that Haley would be singing first, I groaned and said to myself, "It's going to be a long night." So no one was more surprised than I was when she actually turned out to be fun to watch!

Her intonation wasn't great, but her performance as a whole was excellent. She's definitely "Most Improved" for the week.

However, she could stand to work on her singing-whilst-dancing skills. You could totally tell she was getting out of breath.

2. Melinda Doolittle (WILL TAKE IT ALL)

"As Long as He Needs Me""As Long as He Needs Me"

I have to admit that I was quite disappointed in Melinda last night. I still think that she and LaKisha are head and shoulders above the rest of their competitors. But they both picked rather boring songs this week.

On top of that, I felt that Melinda didn't really show off her range or power at all this week.

She was still way better vocally than everyone else, but I hope she gets some fire back next week.

1. LaKisha Jones

"Diamonds are Forever""Diamonds are Forever"

What a weird song choice. There's no denying the power of LaKisha's voice, which is why she's sitting pretty at #2 on my ranking. But, man, that was a weird song.

However, since she picked a song that at least gave her a chance to hit some crazy notes, I put her in the #1 spot this week.

Well, that's just my opinion. What's yours?
